When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon, she came to test him with difficult questions. She arrived in Jerusalem with with camels bearing spices, a great amount of gold, and precious stones.
Solomon answered all her questions. There was no matter about which the king could not answer.
When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon, the palace he built, the food on his table, his attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt sacrifices he made at the temple of Yahweh, she was overwhelmed.
She said to the king, 'Your wisdom and wealth are even greater than what I had heard! How happy your servants must be who serve before you and hear your wisdom!'
She gave the king 9,000 pounds of gold, a great amount of spices and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in in such quantity as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.
