While Saul was on the outskirts of Geba with about six hundred troops, Jonathan said to his armor bearer, 'Come on, let's go across to the Philistine garrison on the other side.' But he did not inform his father.
There was a rocky cliff on either side of the pass by which Jonthan sought to reach the Philistine garrison, and Jonathan said, 'Let's go across to the garrison of these uncircumcised men and perhaps Yahweh will do something for us.'
His armor bearer replied, 'Do all that is in your heart. I am with you in complete accordance with your heart.'
