Then Yahweh said to Joshua, 'March all your soldiers around the city once per day for six days. Have seven priests carry seven ram's horn trumpets in front of the ark.'

'On the seventh day, march around the city seven times, with the priests blowing their trumpets. Then the whole army must utter a mighty war cry.'

'Then the city walls will collapse and all the men can charge straight in.'

So Joshua got up early the next morning and had the ark go around the city with seven priests blowing their trumpets, and soldiers marching in front and in back of the ark.
Then they went back to the camp.

Then Joshua told the army, 'The city and eveyone in it must be offered to Yahweh under the curse of destruction. Only spare Rahab the prostitute and those in her house.'
'Do not take anything under the curse of destruction, or you will put Israel under the same curse, and bring disaster.'

'All items of silver, gold, bronze, and iron belong to Yahweh, and must go into his treasury. Raise the war cry! For Yahweh has given you the city!'

The two spies went and brought Rahab and her family to a place outside the Israelite camp.

Then the Israelites burned the whole city and everything in it.

But they put the items of silver, gold, bronze, and iron into Yahweh's treasury.

Then Joshua made this solemn declaration: 'Accursed before Yahweh be any man who tries to rebuild the city of Jericho. With his firstborn son he shall pay for its foundations, and with his youngest son he shall pay for its gates.'

Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute and her family, and she lives among the Israelites to this day.

But the Israelites were unfaithful to the curse of destruction. Achan of Judah took something that fell under the curse of destruction.
