The man had sex with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain.

She gave birth again, to Cain's brother Abel.

Abel was a shepherd of the flocks.

Cain was a worker of the soil.

After some time, Cain brought some of the produce of the soil as an offering to Yahweh.

And Abel, he also brought some of the firstborn of his flock, the fat ones.

Yahweh looked with favor on Abel and his offering.

But Yahweh did not look with favor on Cain and his offering. This was upsetting to Cain, and his face was fallen.

Yahweh said to Cain, "Why are you upset and why is your face fallen? If you do good, isn't it lifted? If you do not do good, error, she is crouching at the opening. His desire is to you, and you will dominate him."

Cain said to his brother Abel, "Let’s go into the field."

And they were out in the field. And Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him.

Yahweh said to Cain: "Where is your brother Abel?". Cain replied, "I don't know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

Yahweh said, "The voice of your brother's blood cries out to me from the ground! Now you are cursed from the ground which has opened its mouth to receive your brother's blood. When you till the ground, it will not yield its strength to you. You will be a drifter and a wanderer on the earth."
Cain said to Yahweh, "My punishment is too great to endure. Today you have driven me from the face of the land, and from your face I will be hidden. I will be a drifter and a wanderer of the earth, and anyone who finds me will kill me."
Yahweh said to Cain, "In that case, whoever kills Cain, a sevenfold vengeance will be taken on him."

And Yahweh set a mark on Cain, so that anyone who found him would not attack him.

Then Cain went away from the presence of Yahweh and settled in Nod, east of Eden.
