Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene came to the tomb and saw that the stone had been moved away from the entrance.

At sunrise, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome went to the tomb with aromatic spices to anoint Jesus's body, and they were asking each other, 'Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?'

Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told these things to the apostles. But these words seemed like pure nonsense to them, and they did not believe them.
